Direct (1:1) multisensory, sequential, and explicit educational therapy.
Students with a variety of learning styles, including learning differences such as Dyslexia and ADHD, require a direct, explicit, systematic, multi-sensory approach to learning. All students receive a comprehensive assessment to determine their current achievement level. This helps our teachers develop an appropriate educational plan.
TOTEM provides intensive, private, one-on-one educational therapy for three or more hours per week. Our goal is for students to develop academic independence in their educational setting.
After a baseline is established, students are benchmarked three times a year and progress is monitored frequently using AIMSweb. This assures students are making adequate gains.
TOTEM’s professionals will review testing performed by schools and outside professionals to assist parents in making informed educational decisions. TOTEM also helps parents and schools develop annual student goals and accommodations based on the student’s individualized needs.
TOTEM uses a variety of the best curricula available to customize the learning program.
We provide academic testing and progress monitoring using AIMSweb®, DIBELS®, DAB3, DATA-2, Gibson Cognitive Test Battery, Woodcock Reading Mastery Test and the YCAT- Young Children’s Achievement Test.
